If you’re that one soul who never got any invite code to buy OnePlus One and if you’re still looking to buy it, you’re in luck. We have just received an email from company that OnePlus One will be available for purchase on March 24th, 2015 10.00 AM onwards. This will be an open sale meaning that there is no need to have any invite code. All you’ve to do is open this OnePlus One listing on 24th March, add it in your cart and you’re good to go ahead.
This news comes in when the company has decided to increase the price of OnePlus One in Europe. While I see it as an indication of new flagship coming soon.
According to the mail received, both 64 GB sandstone black variant and 16 GB silk white variant will be up for sale without any invitation code. Well, this is what Flipkart has been doing for a long time and it seems that Amazon and OnePlus has also decided to try out this model.
Here’s the copy of that email.
OnePlus One is still one of the best Android smartphone available in the market. With the kind of specifications it holds, it is pure value for money phone. For the price tag of Rs 22k, the phone offers 3 GB of RAM, a powerful 2.5 GHz quadcore Snapdragon 801 processor, 64GB of internal storage, giant 5.5 inch full HD display, superfast Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and 13 megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.
OnePlus has been holding open sales every tuesday in other markets. This time around, they have decided to adopt to this same strategy for Indian market with first open sale being held on March 24th. As I said earlier, there are two possibilities that I feel could be behind this decision. This first and most obvious is the successor to OnePlus One i.e., OnePlus Two (may be). This is the most reasonable explanation for me as most companies look at clearing stocks before releasing the next generation device. However, when I look at price increase in European market, it becomes quite doubtful. The second most suitable explanation is perhaps adoption of new strategy to see how it affects business operations in Indian market. Whatever could be the reasons, we all have an opportunity to buy OnePlus One without invite. So, mark your calendar and keep a close eye at 10 in the morning.
