Indian market is currently being flooded with plethora of Android smartphones and situation is getting pretty intense. Everyone is trying to launch a new smartphone almost everyday and today it is Lenovo S580. Not exactly today though but company has unveiled Lenovo S580, an android running smartphone in Indian market which would cost you Rs 8999.
There are multiple selling factors that I can attribute to this device and I’m gonna discuss them all in detail. Let us first take a quick look at the specifications of this device. The Lenovo S580 is packed with 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. The device features a 5 inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution and multi point touch.
It seems that the company has chosen to release smartphone exclusively through SnapDeal as the device is currently available on Snapdeal. Talking about additional features, the device has got 8 megapixel camera at back and 2 megapixel camera in front. There is this LED flashlight available just beside the camera which has become quite common in various smartphones in this price range. It will be interesting to see how the camera would perform in day as well as night conditions. The specifications mention that the device is upgradable to Android 4.4 Kitkat which pretty much means that the current Android OS is lower than Kitkat, probably Android 4.3 Jelly bean.
At 129 grams, the phone weights quite light and I’m certain that the 2150 mAh battery would give a one day backup. As far as internal memory is concerned, you will get around 5.5GB + available out of 8GB and that can be expanded by adding micro SD card of up to 32 GB. The sensors include accelerometer, proximity, and light.
Lenovo S580 – Selling Factors
There is this section that we have decided to start. We will be covering few selling factors of the respective device according to our understanding. Talking about Lenovo S580, the device has got multiple selling factors which are mentioned below.
Giant 5 inch display
Indians love big display phones. Not all Indians but almost 60-70% of them would prefer a big display phone rather than smaller one with better hardware. This is probably one of the most important reasons why I’m putting in this factor when it comes to Lenovo S580. It has got 5 inch capacitive display along with 1280×720 pixels resolution. The screen has got multi touch support which I believe would support 10 fingert touch at any instance. The screen also offers 180 degrees wide view angle.
This is another factor which Indians have been looking at very seriously. While high end smartphones do lack this feature for most of the time, mid range budget smartphones do come up with dual SIM support. Lenovo S580 has also got dual support giving you an advantage of using two sim cards in one phone.
If you go on street asking about the processor and respective concerns, you will find that people in India are generally concerned about number of cores. I mean, they literally don’t care if those are adding any value to the performance or not. Lenovo S580 stands out from the crowd with its quad core Snapdragon processor which is manufactured by Qualcomm. I’m not really sure about the exact model number but that would get clear as we cover the review.
