Google rolls out Android 4.4.3 update for Nexus devices

Immediately after sharing the factory images of the Android 4.4.3 update for various nexus devices, Google has started rolling out an OTA update to the Nexus devices globally. If you own any one of the phone out of Nexus 5, Nexus 4, or even a tablet like Nexus 7 (both 2012 and 2013) and Nexus 10, you will get the update notification on your device.

Users are not required to check for updates manually as the update is being rolled out in phases and it might take couple of days for it to reach¬†at your end. No matter how many times you will hit “check for updates”, it won’t just come till it is ready.

The Google has also released source code of the Android 4.4.3 at Android Open Source Project (AOSP). As of now there is no official change-log available about the new software update but we do have some confirmations about the security enhancements and minor bugs being removed. Additionally, reports from various online sites suggest that Google has also included a new redesigned dailer app specifically for the Nexus 5. This is expected to bring tweaked user interface and enhancements.

Google is also said to be bringing number of fixes for frequent data loss for particular set of SIM cards, random reboots, missed calls and camera bug which was uncovered very recently. In terms of the overall user interface, there aren’t any major changes as it is a minor bug fix update.

It is still unclear if other manufacturers will follow the suite and upgrade their android phones to this latest update.
