Celkon has launched Celkon Campus A35K, the cheapest smartphone running Android kitkat out of the box. There is already huge war going on amongst the manufacturers to launch budget device in the market and now Celkon has stepped in with the price tag of only Rs. 2,799 with Android Kitkat on-board. Celkon Campus A35K carries the look of HTC’s One series smartphones and comes with variety of colors. The device has 3.5 inch display along with HVGA resolution and average pixel density. It has 1GHz processor and 256MB of RAM with 512MB of onboard storage. The Celkon Campus A35K does support micro SD cards and you can expand it up to 32 GB. Surprisingly, the device supports 3G and has two cameras. The primary camera has a 3.2 megapixel lens whereas the secondary one is simple VGA camera. The device comes up with 1400 mAh batter power which is quite decent.
Looking at the price factor and the Kitkat availability, Celkon Campus A35K should be a huge hit in the Indian market. The lowest price tag and latest Android version are enough to make this device a huge hit. The only concern is brand value. Celkon needs to improve it, if they want to expand their market in India. It will be interesting to see how this device will perform against the Moto E.
We will be coming up with the review as well as comparison with the Motorola E and Micromax Unite 2 A105 very shortly.
