Good news for Moto G users! After several rounds of soak tests and months of waiting, finally the day has arrived when Motorola is pushing out the Android Lolipop update to both original and 2nd gen Moto G devices. To prove that Motorola is still a more reliable smartphone manufacturer in comparison to others company is directly rolling out the latest 5.0.2 update to the devices.
As expected, the update is being rolled out in a phased manner so it may take some time in reaching your device, but rest assured because you’ll receive it within a few days. Since updates are rolled out over-the-air (OTA), you’ll receive the update notification yourself as soon as it’s available for your device. However, if you wish you can check for update manually too. To do that, navigate to Settings > About Phone > Software update.
The Lollipop update is Android’s most important update to the date because it brings a whole lot of changes to the device, all of which collectively change the way in which you use your smartphone. The most common changes include material design, new downtime and interruption settings, improved notifications, redesigned multitasking functionality, updated Motorola Assist, performance enhancements, smart lock, improved battery performance, changes to ambient display and much more than that. It’s expected that the battery-saver feature of Android L can help your Moto G in lasting 90 minutes longer. Support for several new video recording formats like YUV and Bayer RAW is also included. Plus, the 3D-styled appearance of material design gives a really mind-blowing experience that you never felt yet on your smartphone. So get set for it!
Now if you’re more excited than I’m and would like to check out the complete changelog right now then you can head over to the links given below:
